John Denis

Training Consultant

John Denis has more than 32 years of experience in the electrical industry holding a variety of positions. He started his career in 1970 with Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (currently partnered with Constellation Energy Company) in the Electric System Operations Department. He has served in many facets including: Substation Operator, Bulk Power System Operator (Transmission and Generation) Bulk Power System Analyst, Bulk Power Operations Liaison and Bulk Power Shift Supervisor.

During his career in Bulk power operations John participated in various Special Projects including: System Operator In-house Training and PJM Training development and presentations, the BGE Energy Control System (ECS) computer replacement Project (responsible for the one-line display development and operator interface), the Bulk Power Control Room renovation and ECS cut in project and the Bulk Power Control room Mapboard renovation project.

After retirement from BGE in 2002, John took the position of Regional Manager Baltimore Office for MET Electrical Testing Company (electrical power systems specialists and partnered with PEPCO). In 2005 he returned as a consultant to BGE to assist in the Bulk Power Operations Training Unit to update and edit various Operating Manuals including: Emergency Procedures, Transmission operations, Outage procedures and System Restoration.
