Preventing Errors in Emergency Conditions

SPECIAL GUEST PRESENTER: Doug Harrington

This course is intended to provide system operators with the knowledge of what causes human error and ways to avoid making errors during the decision making process. This course is delivered over a 2-day period and includes topics related to human performance, error prevention, and application of concepts in a team environment. The class activities place participants in operational situations that either include emergency conditions or could lead to emergency conditions if not evaluated and corrected with a sense of urgency. Each scenario is then debriefed with the entire class to identify how each group addressed the situation. This course delivery includes extensive interaction with both tabletop exercises and simulator scenarios.
